If there is one thing that all women have in common, it is the strong bond between them and their female friends. Women are known for their super strong friendships and always being there for one another. Sometimes, our friends may even be closer to us than certain family members! From times when you need a helping hand to times when you simply want to laugh a lot and enjoy yourself, I’m sure that all your friends will know exactly how to be there for you. And this great friendship is something that we should celebrate, right?! I count and rely on my friends so much, and I always want them to know just how grateful I am to have them. In fact, I don’t know where I would be without my amazing friends! For this reason, I’ve been thinking about a few ways we ladies can celebrate friendship. Why not give one of these ideas a go to thank all of your friends for always being there for you when you need them the most.
Spend Some Time Together
One of the most obvious ways to celebrate all your friends is to spend some quality time with them. There are loads of different ways you can do this! You could simply hang out at yours, or head out for a fun day trip. No matter what you and your friend want to do, you should do it! Are you feeling a little list for inspiration? Here are a few ideas for you. First of all, you could simply have a good old chat at yours over a coffee or glass of wine. If you don’t want to stay in, you could always take your chat to a cool coffee shop or a chic bar. You might even want to enjoy dinner at your favorite restaurant! How about visiting a local museum or art gallery? Even though you may have both been before, museums and galleries regularly host different exhibitions, so I am sure there will be something new that you won’t have seen before!
You don’t have to wait until your friend’s birthday or Christmas to treat them to a cute gift; you could buy her one whenever you like! If you spot something in a shop that would suit them, such as a pretty jumper, you should just buy them it whatever time of year it is. I’m sure your friend will have been there for you through some of your most difficult periods and, therefore, deserves to be royally spoiled! There are also some cool friendship-specific gifts you could buy her as well. Things like lockets and friendship bracelets often come in pairs so that you can each have a matching one.
You might not live close enough to some of your friends to spend lots of time together or give them all these fun gifts. In fact, if they live in another state or city you could end up spending a lot on postage to get all those gifts to them! But there is a top way you can let all your far-afield friends know that you still care for them and love them, even if you can’t see them as much as you would like to. You just need to send them some thoughtful notes whenever you have the chance! The postage on greetings cards isn’t too much, so you should be able to send them a gorgeous card filled with a special message every once in awhile. If you don’t have the time to go out and buy some cards, simply stick to the modern way of communicating and send your friends a quick email. You can even do it on social media. Thanks to the likes of Facebook and Twitter, you are never too far away from any of your closest friends!
We all love surprises! There are lots of ways you could surprise your friends, all of which are guaranteed to put a big smile on their face! This could be as simple as doing one of the tips I have already mentioned without any warning. Or, if your friends have done something really special for you recently, you might want to really blow their socks off with a very grand gesture. For example, how about whisking them away on a luxury trip somewhere? If you want to push the boat out, you could treat them to a weekend at the beach. If you can’t afford to spend a whole lot of cash, simply treat them to dinner at their favorite restaurant or take them on a day trip somewhere.
Pretend It’s Friendship Day Every Day
Friendship Day is the first Sunday in August. This year, it falls on August 6th. However, you don’t have to wait until the summer to celebrate your friendship. In fact, it’s a good idea to try and treat every day as if it were friendship day! Friendship isn’t quite a big deal over here, but some countries take it very seriously indeed. For example, it has been celebrated in Paraguay since 1958! In most North American and European countries, it hasn’t been going on for quite as long. Lots of people celebrate new friendships as well as old ones on this day, so why not think about making some new connections and bonds in time for the big day in August?!
Express Your Gratitude
If you are feeling very thankful for having all your friends close to you, you should show them this thanks by expressing your gratitude. You might think that all of the points included in this blog post are great ways to express your gratitude to your friends, but there are also some other methods that are fantastic ways to let people know just how grateful you are. For instance, send your friends a pretty bunch of flowers with a small thank you note. If you are a keen baker, you could bake your friends a batch of cookies for them. Alternatively, you might want to help them out with chores if they are finding life slightly stressful at the minute. All of these small gestures may seem fairly little, but they can actually go a long way to showing your friends just how grateful you are.
Cook For Them
I’ve already spoken about spending time with your friends is a great way to celebrate your friendship together. And in the previous point, I mentioned how you can express your gratitude by cooking them some delicious cookies and other baked treats. Well, why not combine both of these and cook a yummy meal for them? This will go down great with them if it has been a while since you have seen each other or if your friend could do with a break from all her housework! You could even hold a small dinner party at yours for all your friends to enjoy! This is a fabulous way to spend time with everyone and have a catch up with them. Plus, you can all enjoy the great food and some tasty wine.
Trust Your Friend
Of course, it isn’t just our actions that can help to celebrate and strengthen our friendships. Showing that you truly do trust your friend is another great way to ensure the bond between the two of you stays very strong. There are lots of different ways you can show someone that you really trust them. One of the most obvious ways is to share some of your secrets with them. Of course, you do not need to tell them anything that you really don’t want to! You might want to start off with some small secrets before you build on your trust and tell them some of your closely guarded ones! But simply sharing your true feelings with people, even if they aren’t secrets, is a great way to start opening up and showing your friends just how much you trust them.
Celebrate Your Mistakes
We all make mistakes in our lives. After all, no one is perfect! And your friends will have certainly made their own fair share of mistakes too! None of you should regret any of these mistakes; instead, look back on them and see them as life lessons. All of them will add up and create your life’s biggest learning curve. In fact, why not come together with your friends and celebrate all the opportunities that your various mistakes have brought you! I’m sure there are some friends who will have stuck by you and helped you out after even your biggest fails. And that is certainly something that is worth celebrating! Don’t be down and think badly of your mistakes; get your friends around you to celebrate both them, your mistakes, and your unrelenting friendship!
As you can see, there are loads of different ways you can celebrate all your close friends and show them just how much they mean to you. So, what are you waiting for? Pick up your phone and call your BFF right now!
