I work a 9-5, five days a week and the last thing on my mind as I’m rushing out the door in the morning is what I’ll eat for the day. Some days I even skip meals because I’m so focused on work. My children have been on my case lately about making healthier choices. With their help, I have been able to choose better foods and I’ve even lost a few pounds. Today, I’m going to share my 5 tips for healthy eating on the fun.
Stock up at the supermarket
The supermarket is full of good and bad foods. But don’t feel overwhelmed when you enter a supermarket. Just go straight for the fruits and veggies. I like to shop at my local neighborhood Walmart for things like fresh fruit, salads, wraps, and other healthy prepared items. My new personal favorite must be the Dannon Light and Fit yogurt drinks.
Don’t go turning your nose up at the sound of a yogurt drink. Light and Fit is a sweet indulgence that you can have on the go. With only 90 calories, 9 grams of protein, 0% fat, and 0 added sugar, choosing Light and Fit was a no brainer. Plus, it is diabetic friendly which is a great for me as I am a diabetic. This drink is nice and smooth and taste great. Only down side, they only come in a four pack. What’s up with that! Hopefully in the future they will offer larger packs, in the meantime I’ll just stock up at Walmart.

Increase Your Water Intake
I will be the first to admit that I suck at getting in the proper amount of water. To be honest I just hate drinking water which now that I say it out loud sounds like a child. My mother would be so upset with me. But, thankfully, my daughter Emerald purchased a bottle infuser so I can add fruit to my water so that it enhances the taste. Plus, according to Medicine Net, “drinking a large glass of water with your meal will help you feel fuller earlier.” Who knew?! Now that I do, I have been drinking water with almost every meal and I can truly say it does fill you up faster. Before I know it, I’ll be the same size as my daughters. Watch out, I’m bringing sexy back.
Watch Your Portion Size
This is so hard for me because let’s be honest food is our friend, that is until our hips and butt eat our seats. That’s why portion control is so important. If this is hard for you, consider purchasing portion control plates. These portion control plates are cute and help you eat just the right amount. If you so happen to find yourself eating out, eat just enough to fill your stomach and then stop. Never eat until you feel full or bloated.
With a little help and a lot of patience you and I both will be able to implement these three tips for healthy eating on the run. By stocking up at the supermarket on fruits, veggies and my personal favorite Dannon light and fit yogurt drinks, you will be able to prevent yourself from falling into the trap of poor eating habits. Also, by increasing your water intake and watching your portion size, you too can be sexy like me.
